Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Durability Test - Fake Folding Glass?!

Today we find out how durable Samsungs new Galaxy Z Fold really is. Grab your Robot Camo dbrand skin HERE: dbrand.com/robotcamo Samsung has pitched this phone as a folding glass phone that ‘bends the laws of physics’ But… is folding glass actually possible? The only way to find out is with a scratch test. Overall I’m impressed with the Galaxy Z Flip. If they change the name of their screen material to something besides glass I would give it a 10/10 as far as folding phones go. The only physical characteristic this screen material shares with actual glass is the clarity. And I dont think thats fair to consumers. At all. Let me know what you think in the comments.

I love how he's testing Samsung but I'm also sad he's ruining a phone I can't afford to buy.

Kind of disappointed that you can literally damage the surface with putting your nail on it

It is not "let's go" or "let's start it", it is "let's destroy it!" 😂

As a professional scientific glassblower of the past 15 years, I was extremely skeptical of the folding glass claims. I know how thin it needs to be to be that flexible, and you'd have to try very hard to not poke a hole in it during normal use. FYI, a bic will melt many types of glass if thin enough.. all I'm familiar with aside from quartz, which has the problem if being extremely brittle when compared borosilicates or soda lime. I have very little experience melting gorilla glass though, iirc, it's aluminosilicate with the sodium ions exchanged for potassium.

I'm honestly surprised it did so well. My z fold always felt really soft. It feels better without the screen protector, but I'm not brave enough to go without

Great video Zack. I do have one small complaint: maybe you should do the dust test before the bend test in the future. The bend test might make it so that the frame is compromised and there are more acces points for dust than there might normally be. I don't think that's fair to the phone either! Love you channel, lots of love from Belgium!!

Yes! The most honest review I've seen. I was sold on the "folding glass" until I saw this and learned a thing

I was seriously considering getting one as all the reviews have been so good, however I seen your video and I am in disbelief how plastic and cheap the screen feels.. Definitley a no!

This channel is still my first stop anytime an interesting new phone drops and I'm curious to know more. One of the most practically useful tech-related channels out there. I don't particularly care what microchip it's got or what's the refresh rate of the screen; I wanna know if it's gonna break if I sit on it and whether or not the pixels will recover after I inevitably hold a lighter to the screen for a while xD
