NEW iPhone SE - Bend Test - Scratch Test - Burn Test

How durable is the New iPhone SE? Did Apple skimp on materials to make this budget 4 inch device? It seems to be an exact imitation of the iPhone 5. Lets give it the ol' JerryRigEverything durability test.
First we will start with the scratch test, making sure we hit the screen, the aluminum back, and the camera lens. After that we will burn the display and see if the IPS panel can recover from the extreme heat. Then we can try bending it.

Love your durability tests jerry! Keep up the good work! However I was curious about one thing in particular concerning the iPhone se which you seemed to have missed in this test, and that is the part where you test the earpiece grill and tell us what material it's made of. If you could please respond and let me know if the grill is metal or not I would really appreciate your effort! I just got my iPhone se and I don't want to go sticking anything into the earpiece to test this myself.

I haven't kept up with my research but wasn't Apple using sapphire glass for the home button and camera lens? Could we get a scratch test using the picks on those?

That's a good phone for durability. Thanks for the review, my mother was thinking about it and this is adding to the very very high approval.

I think when the metal breaks that means it fails the bend test

It looks durable so I thought it would be. So far the phone is in perfect condition for me for 2 years but it broke pretty well here.

I'd like to see a DTEK50 durability test. One of the things I've noticed you don't cover in these tests is shatter resistance, as some displays are more prone to shatter (I can throw my z10 against a concrete repeatedly and the screen won't shatter).

Hi Jerry, thanks for documenting your tests. I have seen your durability reviews on the iphone se and the iphone 6s durability tests, but it is not clear to me which one resisted more in the bend test?

Still my favorite iPhone design. If I wasn't on Samsung I would've gotten this when it was released.

Hi Jerry, thanks for your videos they help me a lot. I have recently re-shelled an SE and everything works fine apart from 3G and 4G do not appear to be as good as they used to be? Could you suggest anything I could look at?

Came here from the "how to replace the screen video" to learn about the home button and bend test. I keep mine in a life proof, and would be lying if I said I'd never tried to snap it in half. It bends exactly as you've mentioned, but works perfectly still. The battery hasn't heated up any or lost any life. The screen only broke when I Gronk spiked it at the floor.
